Bedrock guide

Guides: local-first workspaces, honestly explained.

Short, practical guides about owning your workspace: offline capability, data ownership, and what self-hosting actually costs you.

Practical guides for people evaluating local-first workspace tools. Every claim is marked as shipping today or on the roadmap — the same discipline as our feature comparison.

The three guides

Notion alternative that works offline — what breaks when your workspace is cloud-only, and how a local-first design avoids it.
The local-first workspace, explained — SQLite on your disk, AES-256 encryption, and why there is no account.
Self-hosted Notion vs Bedrock — the two honest ways to own your data, and which one fits you.

Who these are for

People who keep their notes, tasks, and databases in a tool they do not fully control — and have started to care about that. No setup tutorials for basics; these guides focus on the architectural trade-offs that marketing pages usually skip.

Try it yourself
